Hillhouse and Earnock

Heather Darling completed a four year course at Edinburgh College of Art in the 60s where she studied drawing, Painting, and Design for two years then specialized in

Jewellery and Printmaking for a further two years.

She was awarded a travelling scholarship which she spent in Italy and the Netherlands.

Always wanting to teach Art from childhood she went to teacher training college in Edinburgh, taught for a few years in West Lothian before teaching in Hamilton, Motherwell, Wishaw and Lesmahagow.

Since 2003 Heather has been encouraging adults and children to paint and draw using  a variety of media.

The Hillhouse and Earnock Art Groups have displayed and sold their work in Hamilton every year since then.

Heather gets great pleasure from seeing people progressing in technique and confidence in achieving their own work of art.
